Tottoli's book reads like something Gordon Newby might have written as context for "The Making of the Last Prophet" in 1987. This overview is naive - and for 2002, *too* naive. Part 1 is a comprehensive study of the Qur'anic data about each prophet, with a full portrait of every figure and dealing also with all the major scholarly literature on the subject and with the Qur'anic concept of prophetology. Part 2 is a history and study of the general Muslim literature dealing with the prophets.
