In 1978 Misrani devi-dasi, a devotee of the Hare Krishna movement, vowed she would never get married but would instead serve the Gaura-Nitai deities on the altar of the Evanston, Illinois temple.

To mark the occasion she took the photographs in this book. Bhakta Jim, who supplied the Instamatic camera, film, developing, and albums had two prints made of each picture so he and Misrani could each have their own albums.
